 | Diane Elins Copeland, Psy.D., C.A.D.C. Dr. Copeland is a licensed clinical psychologist and certified addictions counselor who has been in practice in the Chicago area since 1987. Dr. Copeland's areas of clinical expertise include: binge/emotional overeating, obesity, gastric bypass & lap-band surgery, weight management, addictions, depression and anxiety disorders.
Through her work with bariatric surgery patients, Dr. Copeland recognized the emotional work which must accompany this tremendous "Transformation" in order to ensure long-term weight-loss success. After treating several patients who regained weight following bariatric surgery, Dr. Copeland did an extensive review of the available research and found there was little devoted to techniques for helping patients meet their social & emotional needs without food, and to prevent weight regain. She then went on to develop a number of unique approaches to serving these clients in her individual work.
It was Dr. Copeland who saw the need for a comprehensive set of programs designed to serve this unique population. She is a highly creative and positive force for change in the lives of the patients she serves. Dr. Copeland's approach with patients is collaborative, with therapist and client working together as a team to develop individualized approaches to identified problem areas.
Dr. Copeland offers individual psychotherapy for adults in both her Deerfield and Park Ridge offices. She also leads the Transformations Groups.

 | Robin S. Ross, Ph.D.
Dr. Ross is a licensed clinical psychologist who has been in practice in Illinois since 1987. She is a cognitive-behavioral psychologist who specializes in eating and weight disorders, anxiety disorders, and health psychology.
When counseling patients dealing with obesity, weight loss, weight regain, and the adjustments necessary after gastric bypass or lap band surgery, Dr. Ross helps them identify the patterns that lead to binge eating. These often include eating as a way to manage stress, boredom, or painful emotions. An individualized program is then developed for each person to help them learn new skills for managing emotions & stress without food as well as the lifestyle changes that are necessary for long-term weight loss and to prevent weight regain.
Dr. Ross believes that it is essential to learn both the skills for creating life change and the skills needed to prevent relapse back into the original problem patterns which led to obesity in the first place.
In addition to individual counseling, Dr. Ross leads the Transformations groups. Please see our programs page for further information about these groups.
